In the event of a fire, the staff and students will:
Evacuate the classroom with emergency backpacks
Account for all students and assess missing and/or injured
Set up a Communication Command Center
Administer first aid as needed
In the event of an intruder on campus, the staff and students will:
Activate “Run, Hide, Defend” and “Lockdown” procedures
Close and lock all doors, windows, and blinds
Build barriers in classrooms and remain behind the barriers until police arrive and escort students to safety
In the event of an earthquake, the staff and students will:
Activate “Duck, Cover and Hold” procedures
Evacuate the classroom with emergency backpacks

Activate Emergency Teams: Search and Rescue, First Aid etc.
Student Release procedures:
- Students will only be released to those that are listed on the student’s emergency card.
- Please keep your student’s emergency card up to date with the correct names and phone numbers.
- Parents would check-in at the Student Release Area.
- California ID or passport will be required.
What should parents do if an earthquake happens?
- Do not call the school. Lines need to be open for emergency calls and the office will be closed. You can contact the District Office at 408-252-3000 for any updates and the status of our school. Information will be broadcast to parents over local radio stations KNBR -AM 680, KCBS-AM 740, KGO-AM 810, KLIV-AM 1590, KARA-FM 105.7, and/or local television station KNTV-Channel 11(NBC 3)
- Do not immediately drive to school. Drop-off areas/parking lots will be closed to all traffic and must remain clear for emergency vehicles only. To reduce traffic, walk to school or park your car in the surrounding neighborhood.
- The Staff will be in their designated roles: Command Center, Student Supervision, First Aid, Search & Rescue, Student Release, Care & Shelter, Utility & Fire, Safety & Security, Safety Assessment.
- Parents would check-in at the Student Release Area.
- Students will only be released to those that are listed on the student’s emergency card.
- Adults picking up children must bring a Photo ID.
