    Program Description
    Book Faire and Library help The school librarian manages the schools book faire, with the help of parent and student volunteers. This fundraiser, raises money for the library to have the latest books, DVDs and magazines to enrich students lives and help with class projects.

    Parent volunteers help the school librarian with re-shelving books.
    CEEF CEEF (Cupertino educational endowment foundation)
    This Chairperson acts as a liaison from CEEF to Hyde, communicating information to our community.
    Communication Chair
    This is the PTSA volunteer that helps get the word out about PTSA events through the school.
    Copy Club The Chairperson coordinates the parent volunteers to help make copies for teachers. This takes a huge task off the teacher’s workload so they can focus on our children’s classroom time.
    Dance Dances are a great way to give our students an opportunity to socialize in a secure environment. This PTSA Sponsored event requires 10+ parents volunteer at each dance to help with coat room, food sales, dance monitoring, library supervision, and security. This Chairperson recruits and organizes the parent volunteers into shifts.
    Dance Food Concessions Kids are hungry all the time, so after dancing they have an opportunity to purchase food, snacks and drinks. This Chairperson manages the purchases and sales at each dance for this PTSA Sponsored program.
    Scrip, e-Scrip By doing your shopping at Safeway and other vendors, this ongoing PTSA fundraiser helps raise $3000 to support PTSA Programs. The Chairperson manages our support and communicates with parents on upcoming activities.
    8th Grade Graduation event A rite of passage for all the hard work in middle school should be rewarded. This PTSA Sponsored 8th grade only dance event is a wonderful celebration. A Committee of 10+ parents create a theme, organize games, vendors, food, music in a fun filled evening after school graduation ceremony.
    8th grade science ice cream lab This school science classroom project is fun and a hands on learning opportunity  for the students. The Chairperson coordinates parent volunteers, purchases items teachers need.
    Hyde Magazine Fundraiser This is a Hyde school wide fundraiser to help with supplies, materials needed to best support our teachers needs. The Chairperson and volunteers help sort order forms and give out prizes to students.
     Ice cream social  Ice Cream Social and Spring Art Collection
    This is a great opportunity for all the Hyde Electives classes to show off the students work from the year, all while eating yummy ice cream. This PTSA Sponsored family event is to promote community. This Chairperson orders ice cream and coordinates volunteers to help at the event.
    Movie Night This PTSA Sponsored fun social community event gives students a secure fun event, while parents can network with each other. The Chairperson coordinates the movie, screen, snacks and volunteers.
    Multi-Cultural International Event With Hyde having over students from 50 different countries, it’s important to learn and celebrate each others cultures.  This PTSA Sponsored fun social community event gives the opportunity to learn, eat and watch performances from our students.
    Parent Education Classes These PTSA sponsored evening event/classes are designed to help you learn, navigate and better understand your middle school needs. The Chairperson organizes about 1-2 a school year and they are free to parents of the CUSD. Look for emails or information in the school ROAR newsletter.
    Project Cornerstone
    Project Cornerstore is looking for volunteers!  Students have created "The Mystery Club", a group that meets every Wednesday during lunch. You can see an introduction to Project Cornerstone here.

    PTA Membership
    Join this National PTA group and have a voice at Hyde PTSA meetings. For just $10 pp you can vote for or against programs or budget items.  The chairperson tracks membership dues, members and mails out membership cards.
    Red Ribbon Week
    Hyde participates in the National Campaign against drugs, smoking and alcohol. The red ribbon symbolizes the commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.  This PTSA Sponsored chairperson creates a week long set of activities to make it easier for the students to understand the important messages in a fun way.
    Reflections Art Contest
    This is a contest sponsored by the National PTA.  Students enter original works of art in four categories:  literature, visual arts, photography and music. The chairperson coordinates all submissions from Hyde and communicates with parents on their child’s progress. Learn more about this year's PTA Reflections Contest.
    Science Fair
     
    Science Fundraiser
    This Hyde school fundraiser is for  6th, 7th and 8th grade science departments. It helps with purchases of science supplies, materials and Yosemite science camp.
    Science & Math Nights
    These are Hyde school events that is supported by PTSA Funds. This  is a fun evening for students and parents to come and learn more about Math and Science in an relaxed and fun way.

    Staff Appreciation Week
    Teachers work so hard for our kids, that it’s wonderful that PTSA supports this National week to the Hyde Staff. The chairperson organizes food, treats and gifts.
    Volunteer Coordinator
    This key position manages all the volunteers, maintains a database and sends the chair people a list of volunteers. Having a large pool of volunteers takes the burden off the teachers and volunteers, so that each parents can give the hours they want and have an enjoyable experience.
